International conference dedicated to the World Day of the Family Doctor and the 20th anniversary of family medicine in Kyrgyzstan

From May 17-18, 2018, a two-day International Conference was held in our republic, dedicated to World Family Doctor's Day and the 20th anniversary of family medicine in Kyrgyzstan with the participation of local family medicine specialists and international experts in this field.

The motto of the conference is “Family doctors are leaders on the path to better health,” which emphasizes the leading role of family doctors in achieving more complete health for each member of society.

Laboratory "Express Plus" also participated in the conference.

The first day of the conference was held in the auditorium of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy named after I.K. Akhunbaev. At this conference, the heads of the Ministry of Health, the KSMA and its subdivisions, as well as guests from abroad delivered a speech. The second day of the conference was held in the conference hall of the sanatorium “Kyrgyz Beach” in Issyk-Kul. It was in Issyk-Kul that the development of family medicine in Kyrgyzstan began 20 years ago. On this occasion, a special plenary session was organized with discussions on global issues in this area, as well as with conducting master classes for family doctors and students.
Saykal Bozova, coordinator of component 3 on improving the quality of nutrition, took part in this conference on behalf of the project “Improving agricultural productivity and nutrition”.

She made a presentation on the activities carried out by component 3 “Measures to improve the quality of nutrition” to the activities within which the project will conduct training of health workers selected 60 village aimaks to increase knowledge and skills in nutrition counseling and prevention of anemia in order to improve the quality of medical services at the level of FMC , FGP, FAP for children, adolescent girls, women of reproductive age, pregnant and lactating women. In addition, for the participants of the event was presented a poster-report of the project, which reflects the goals and objectives, as well as all project activities.
